Community Outreach
Hunger
Kraft Canada has a long-standing partnership with the Canadian Association of Food Banks (CAFB) to lead the fight against hunger in Canada. The CAFB is a national coalition of organizations that gathers food for redistribution to people in need.
Kraft Canada donates an average of 1.5 million pounds of products to the CAFB each year to help feed hungry families. Kraft Canada also contributes to the CAFB through the funding of programs and research designed to raise awareness of the hunger issue in Canada.
The Daily Bread Food Bank is Canada's largest food bank and also houses the national food distribution centre for the country.
Education
Kraft Canada has a tradition of supporting educational initiatives with a focus on nutrition and learning.
To provide consumers with responsible nutrition information, Kraft Canada developed a partnership with the Dietitians of Canada and the Canadian Foundation for Dietetic Research. Kraft Canada is a founding sponsor of the "Speaking of Food and Eating Award," which recognizes excellence in consumer nutrition communication.
Kraft Canada has also been a major sponsor of the Prime Minister's Award for Teaching Excellence since 1997. This annual award program recognizes school teachers across the country for innovation and creativity.
Community Support
Kraft Canada plays a vital role as a leading employer in communities across the country. The company believes in supporting the local communities in which its employees and consumers work and live through corporate and employee-driven fundraising campaigns. Kraft Canada is a strong supporter of the United Way and participates in annual programs across the country to raise money for local member organizations. Working in cooperation with grocery retailers, Kraft Canada also actively supports a wide variety of local grassroots initiatives that make a difference in regions throughout the country.

Dollars for Doers program turns volunteering time into money
If you volunteer at your local food bank, homeless shelter or Boys and Girls Club, your volunteer efforts may now provide an even bigger payback to those organizations. We’ve made it easier for you to turn your personal volunteering time into money for the organizations where you give your time and talents.
Through the new Kraft Canada Dollars for Doers program, employees who volunteer 50 hours to an eligible (non-religious, non-political, non-governmental) organization will receive a one-time annual $500 grant for that organization. In its first year, the program will have a maximum budget of $50,000 so payments to organizations will be done on a first-come first-served basis.
